7GC portfolio company hims & hers over the course of the past 18 has successfully grown its product offering – including its women line hers – and has now begun its move into mental health and broader primary care telehealth in the wake of COVID-19.

The company has launched group therapy services through its brands as part of an initial push into mental health services and COVID-19 screening testing.

The company began exploring mental health as a category eight months ago, and accelerated its pace to respond due to increased consumer demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

hims and hers are beginning their foray into mental wellness with anonymized group therapy that has fewer barriers to cross than providing treatment for individual therapy or text-based sessions. The company released an entire new “online therapy” section to their website last week.

hims & hers announced at the end of March that it would be offering free COVID-19 screenings via both its for hims and for hers websites.

The screening runs users through a questionnaire to assess their symptoms and then provides feedback on whether they should continue to monitor how they feel at home. If hims & hers recommend medical treatment — it connects people with a primary physician digitally.

The screening advice has been critical to help manage and alleviate prospective cases at hospitals who are in short supply of medical workers overrun with a growing number of patients.
